Objectives:
Students
will know and be able to:
1.
Insert a table into a Microsoft Word document.
2. Format cells with certain specifications (ie. Bold).
3. Use a currency conversion calculator to find various currency
equivalent to $1 U.S.
4. Understand the difference in values for currency of specific
countries.
5. Use the AutoFormat tool to create a variety of creative/preformatted
table formats.
6. Save as they are working, and create a back-up of their work
when they are finished.
1.
Find the tables button in the standard toolbar and click and drag
to select a table eight rows down by four columns wide.
2. Drag right and down and let go when you have eight by four selected.

Selecting a Cell: Click in the top left cell and type $ =. A blinking
cursor shows you where you can begin to enter text.

Selecting a Row:
Double Click a cell to select the cell. To select the row (remember,
a row runs left to right) place the I-beam outside the table and
you will see a pointer, pointing to the right. Click once to select
the first row and Center Align it.

Select the top left cell you keyed in earlier. Move to the cell below
the $= and press tab. Notice that you move to the right one cell.
- Enter
the word UK in this cell and press tab.
- Enter
the word Pound and press tab again.
- Enter
$1 U.S.= in the fourth cell.
- Fill
in the information for the remaining cells, using the following
table as your guideline:

In the fourth cell enter what the equivalent amount is compared
to 1 U.S. Dollar.

Few Hints:
- Make
sure that you find the currency exchange compared to $1 U.S.
- In
order to do this the Convert From box needs to say United States
Dollar each time you convert to another currency.

Once you have all the currency conversions in the table select the
second column and select italics from the formatting toolbar.

Select the entire table that you have created and press the control
key and C at the same time (this will copy the information, so it
will appear as though nothing has happened).
- Move
the cursor two spaces down below the table that you created and
press the control key and V (this will paste a duplicate copy of
the table you just created).
- Move
two spaces below the table you just pasted and press the Control
key and V again.
- Move
two spaces below the table you just pasted and press the Control
key and V once again.

Now you should have four copies of the table.
- For
the second copy, select everything and then select Table from the
menu bar.
- Next,
click on Table Auto Format, and then select Colorful 1 and OK.
- Go
to the third table and select Table Auto Format, and then select
Columns 3 and OK.

For the fourth copy you can select any style that you want. Be as
creative as you want to be! Use something different than Colorful
1 or Columns 3.

Now that you are finished, save a copy of your work to your disk,
and a copy to your folder as>>Table2(first initial)(last initial).
